Dr.Maxime Brami

As a prehistoric archaeologist based since 2018 in the ancient DNA laboratory of Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) Mainz, I know the challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary work, such as the need for a shared language and access to archaeological research and data. My current project examines the interplay between culture and biology in Europe at the turn of the 3^rd millennium BC, using innovative AI-assisted methods for data collection and analysis. Beside initiating research at the intersection of archaeology, genetics and computer science, my work explores the historical background of current debates on prehistoric migrations and their methodological underpinnings, with a view to address the interpretive dilemma presented by new biomolecular approaches
