BIO
Klaus Pietschmann is a professor for musicology at the Institute for Art History and Musicology (IKM). He is the director of the musicology department. His main areas of research are Italian music history (15th-17th c.), music and liturgy in church contexts (15th and 16th c.), the history of opera (17th-19th c.) and regional music cultures of the Rheinland, Switzerland and Mexico.
