BIO

Verónica Abrego holds a Ph.D. in Romance Studies from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where she is currently working after a research project at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (2018-2021). Her fields of work are cultural and literary studies, gender and translation studies, with a special focus on intersectionality, migration and memory. In addition to various chapters in books and journal articles, her publications include "Erinnerung und Intersektionalität: Frauen als Opfer der argentinischen Staatsrepression" (2016, on Enforced Disappearances and Women Victims of State Repression in Argentina) and the collaborative volumes "Nación y migración: España y Portugal frente a las migraciones contemporáneas" (2015, with Cornelia Sieber and Anne Burgert), "Intersektionalität und erzählte Welten. Literaturwissenschaftliche und literaturdidaktische Perspektiven" (2023, on applying the intersectionality paradigm to literary studies and literary didactics, with Ina Henke, Magdalena Kißling, Christina Lammer and Maria-Theresia Leuker) and "Redes transatlánticas: intelectuales y artistas entre América Latina y Europa durante la Guerra Fría" (2023, with Thomas Bremer).
