BIO

Jennifer Gabler belongs to the lab of Prof. Olga Zlatkin-Troitschanskaia. 

 

The lab is part of the Chair of Business and Economics Education at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany) and focuses on empirical educational and social research. In addition to general topics such as competence development and measurement, the research focuses particularly on the central current challenges for higher education. One of the main areas of research is investigating the effects of digital learning environments and online information landscapes on students' acquisition of knowledge and on critical thinking. Dealing with misinformation in digital contexts as well as strategies to promote critical thinking online play a central role in this area. The lab´s research is also dedicated to other central topics of educational research, such as the development and evaluation of innovative digital teaching and learning materials, or the integration of start-ups as innovative players in vocational training. The lab engages in interdisciplinary, method-integrative work in close cooperation with numerous national and international partners.

 

Jennifer Gabler currently focusses in her research especially on critical online reasoning and its influencing factors. She is part of the DFG research group "Critical Thinking in Online Learning Environments in Higher Education" (CORE).
