BIO

I obtained my PhD in June 2011 at ETH Zürich. In 2012, I moved to the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology as a project group leader. After five and half years, I moved to the University of Münster, Germany as a W2 professor (equivalent to associate professor). In 2022, I moved to the University of Mainz (Germany) as a W3 professor (equivalent to a full professor). My research focuses on understanding the function and evolution of adaptive traits, with a special focus on plant-specialized metabolites (PSM). My group is developing new research programs that combine tools from chemical ecology, evolutionary genomics, experimental evolution, and recently developed single-cell multiomics.
